Climb a rock in the middle of a waterfall
In the middle of the Rhine Falls one rock stands up out of the river, and the water goes over the falls on both sides of it. The only way onto it is by boat.
The boat crosses the basin below the falls through the spray, a ride of about ten minutes, and puts in at the foot of the rock. From there it is more than a hundred steps and about 30 meters of climbing to a platform at the top, with the view all the way round.
Nobody says much up there. Nobody could hear it. Twenty minutes on the rock, then the boat comes back.
The falls are only 23 meters high. They are also 150 meters wide, and in summer about 600,000 liters of water go over them every second, which is the part the height leaves out. The boats to the rock run every day from early April to the end of October.
